2013
APRIL
Poster for Woods; 3 colour handpulled screen print
FEBURARY I created a brand new poster for Vera, the first one of 2013; Bettie Serveert + Awkward I
JANUARY Already some good news at the start of the year, two logo’s are finished; Soepzooi (a soup-and more- catering company) and SterkeTXT (a text and communication bureau. SterketXT means strong text).
It seems very likely that the Impossible Machine will attend Flatstock Barcelona again in May, since the Primavera sound line up looks amazing and we cannot wait to work in the sun again. AND last but not least; both me and Mirjam will do a lot of teaching at Academie Minerva this year which is also very exciting. What a great start for ’13!.
Happy new year; I created this card which is a mixture of two of my favorite posters of last year. Believe me, I sent them out on time. Just updated my website a bit too late…

• TWO new screenprinted posters for the Vera Club; Sharon van Etten + Marisa Anderson AND Nomeansno + Yankee Sandwich. Those (last ones of 2012 already…) prints are available via my webshop after the shows have taken place.

• I created a new poster for the guys of Grow Grow and Nicoffeine in Berlin; do check it out if you’re around, it’s gonna be a noiserock monstershow!

• I’m very honoured to be featured in this book with my Ratatat // Beach Fossils (2010) poster;

Showcases well over 350 of the finest examples of rock poster art from the last 60 years. From custom-designed posters for provincial R&B and folk concerts in the late Fifties to the computer-generated images of today. Arranged over seven chapters. Each chapter begins with a concise overview of developments during the era. Features profiles, interviews and quotes of leading artists during these periods. Focuses on influential venues describing their history and their role in the development of rock art and rock music history. Features over 350 posters, flyers and handbills produced to promote both mainstream bands and sub-genres. With posters selected by Dennis Loren (largely from private collections and from portfolios of fellow artists), this is the most comprehensive and accessible visual history of the subject published to date.

‘THE IMPOSSIBBLE MACHINE’ WEBSHOP IS NOW OPEN!
NEW WORK!
Again I had the honour of creating the poster fro Astrid Bussink’s new documentary. Her new film Poule des Doods (Poem of Death) has been selected for competition at the Nederlands Film Festival in Utrecht and will premiere September 30th! Poem of Death is a documentary about a group of poets in Amsterdam, who write custom-written poems and recite them at ‘Lonely Funerals’. They accompany the solitary departed to the grave, with a poem written for the occasion. In Amsterdam only, fifteen people a year pass away whose interment will not be witnessed. Be it nameless people, or people with a name, but without family or friends.
NEW ARTICLES FOR SALE
I produced a set of five A5 postcards, printed on a very nice 300 gr recycled paper; the packs are for sale in the Impossible Machine webshop.
