The touring show of concert posters Flatstock will visit Barcelona for the San Miguel Primavera Sound. This unusual exhibition will take place on the Parc del Fòrum site and will be the biggest exhibition of this type to visit Europe. From the 31st May until the 2nd June, the festival’s public will be able to see and buy the work of more than 30 artists.

New articles for sale
I produced a set of five A5 postcards, printed on a very nice 300 gr recycled paper; the packs will be sold for the first time at Flatstock – and after that also in the Impossible Machine webshop, which will go online mid June!
May/June
I’ll be attending Flatstock 34 during Primavera Sound music festival at Parc del Fòrum, Barcelona, Spain. Selling posters, meeting up with my Gigposter pals and enjoying that wonderful country once again. I’ll be sharing a booth with Mirjam under our new moniker; The Impossible Machine. First here’s a new poster for the Vera Club; Other Lives!; besides that I’ve also been working on a record sleeve + poster for the 10-inch release by local heroes the Svetkoff Lamps. To be presented at the Vera Club on March 23rd, be there! Last but not least the third book by Dutch ABSURDISTS (yes they are!) Ronald Snijders & Fedor van Eldijk; ‘Een Ander Boek‘ is soon going to be released. I had great pleasure in creating the cover. A treat for Dutch audiences only I’m afraid…. More soon!

Secondly I’d like to tell you about the book ‘Vera in Posters 2011‘–a little book with the best of 2011 Vera gigposters, and the first one in a row of many annual ‘best of’s'! Designed by Shootmedia for the Vera Club. My posters for The Luyas, Explosions in the Sky & the Sexton Creeps are featured. You can get a copy from me or at the Vera Club cloak room.

September has been a fantastic very well spent month in the USA, and very much all about gigposters (and meeting nice people and having good food). And it’s about time I write a little text on this. Hosted by Portland posterstar Guy Burwell, Mirjam Dijkema and me (2/3rd of Studio Frontaal Collective) travelled to the West Coast for a good 3 weeks. We curated a postershow at The Vera Project in Seattle, exhibiting over a 100 posters from the Vera Groningen archives, and also did a talk about big sister Vera to small sister Vera Project, and included also our personal work and influences. Oh and we gave a workshop, as well! In the same week we also attended Flatstock 31 at the Fisher Pavillion, Seattle Bumbershoot festival, a 3 day poster event full of posters, posters and posters, and meeting very nice colleagues. Last but not least we had a great day in Portland at the MusicfestNW Poster Mart . It was great to be a part of the very lively posterscene in the US, selling work, sharing work, showing work and we are very much inspired to bring that same liveliness back to the European scene.
